At least the tuckshop staff were lovely.

For example, if you wear any colour of socks other than white, you will face punishment.

Before I get started, I'll say that I'm not some malcontent who was always in trouble and has a grudge against the school. In fact I was at Gold Level, my Oneschool record is flawless and I even acquired the Principal's Recommendation Scholarship.

Maryanne Walsh, the Principal of the school. She is by far the biggest failing point. I found her to be extremely unfair when dealing with most internal matters within the school and administers excessive punishments for minor transgressions. She appears to be only concerned with the public image of the school and herself and ignores the needs of the students that she is supposed to be leading. She avoided interviews with my parent, making it very difficult to voice concerns over the occurrences within the school. I found her rules policy to be draconian over mundane things such as the colour of socks, the use of schoolbags, the times that you are allowed to access your lockers and even students at shopping centers after school has finished.

Students are not allowed to go to the adjacent supermarket that is across the road from the school after 3:15 PM and the Principal actually hangs around that area during that time threatening students away, despite the fact that they are legitimate paying customers.

The school is EXCELLENT with their bullying policy. I've attended many different schools over the course of my education due to moving house a lot and Centenary is the best one in that regard. If you report an instance of bullying you can bet money that the school will be all over it like ants on honey.

And that's about where the good things stop.

I just graduated from this school after 4 years of enrollment, so I know what goes on around there.

I'm a disabled former student, was suicidal throughout grade ten and the disability support staff really do leave much to be desired.

The school staff have a very strong culture of protecting each other from the students. It is extremely difficult to voice concerns over the conduct of a teacher, teacher aid or staff member due to the joke of a complaints system that they have. I tried to lodge a formal complaint about a teacher and I was told that unless I had a majority of students from my class supporting the complaint, the complaint would not be recognized even when it is addressing serious matters. This makes it very difficult to get anything done about a teacher, as many students will not support a complaint for fear of action being taken against them by the school.

One of the worst schools I have ever seen. I was bullied mercilessly at this school with little action ever taken, even after I was told to commit suicide. The school will put 100% into any students who can get an OP 1, any students who cannot will be pressured into leaving.

Fantastic school. Excellent, helpful and dedicated teachers. Great learning environment, good opportunities to grow and experience different academic, musical or athletic pursuits.

Many of the classrooms lack chairs that don't have uneven or wonky legs and even less have air conditioning (Though most of the staff rooms do. Go figure). Most of the classrooms do not have curtains to block out the sun for when the projector needs to be used.

You are not allowed to carry a bag during school hours; you must keep your bag in your locker. I was threatened with suspension for carrying my bag around the school and the school did not reply to my parent when she attempted to contact the school in relation to this issue.

The academic facilities at the school are actually rather good except for a few quirks here and there. The teachers are largely competent, their materials are up to date and as far as I know, the school has a pretty top-notch academic record.
