  3. She didn't listen to me when I told her about blue / gray toners on my hair - and in doing so kept me at the salon for an additional hour - on a cold day with a 2 and 4 yo, having travelled from Brisbane for the appointment.

  Edit: the cut didn't end up that great. I couldn't replicate the style with flat irons or a blow drier. I had unmanageable hair until I could afford to go somewhere else to get it fixed. My original rating was three stars, but with a cut that proved to be an unmanageable cut (especially since I've had that style in the recent past, and I could reproduce that finish every time), it's a 1.

  I told them straight up on the phone that because I was having such a drastic hair style change i.e. going from long to pixie I needed someone who knows what they are doing. I had a couple of pics that I showed the stylist when I arrived, she was satisfied she knew what I wanted. Well she didn't! She basically cut my hair the way she thought it should be. The sides are uneven and WAY too short even after I specifically asked her to leave the hair covering the tops of my ears. The back of my hair is hacked at and looks terrible and I have to pay someone else now to get it fixed. The stylist just didn't listen to me at all. Now I have to wait till my hair grows out again. Very unhappy.

  4. I have a technically lovely hair cut, and the colour is okay. But it isn't what I wanted. It isn't what I asked for. And no amount of protestations to its technical niceness, or achieving the colour she wanted (she told me this at the end, I believed we had agreed on somewhere between what I had - and still had at the appointments end - and what I wanted), will change the fact that what I left with, and was expected to pay for in full; was NOT what I had asked for.

  I LOVE MINX! I went there earlier this year so nervous about my dulling blonde hair! Amy gave me the most beautiful style and colour and was so confident and knowledgeable I walked out feeling amazing!

  I then booked my wedding hair through them and it was such an easy and affordable process! I went in earlier this week and saw Shay. She was fantastic and did exactly what i asked for and more! When she told me she was reaching the end of her apprenticeship I was so shocked! She was so confident and skilled I would have thought she had been doing this forever! Couldn't be happier with the service and quality and would highly recommend! Thank you Minx
